Who We Are

Hearts afire to serve God and one another.... All for the Glory of God!

Servant Song is an ecumenical, collaborative ministry of Christians, called forth by God and established, in fact, February 14, 2005 by Larry & Donna Koller and encourages and promotes spiritual growth and enrichment through prayer, silence, retreats, education, and spiritual direction in the Christian tradition. It is a unique PA nonprofit corporation and IRS 501(c)(3) organization, not owned by any individual, denomination, or religious community.  Our leadership (board of directors), staff, and ministry team members come from major Christian denominations. Together we celebrate our unity under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.  This group is led by an all-volunteer team with the exception of one part-time casual employee who does housekeeping and support staff work "as needed."

Servant Song is a very special place where those who come experience God’s love, mercy, and His deep abiding peace. It is a place where people often experience healing of deep inner wounds and one comes to know his/her own preciousness before God—often for the first time ever!  Our chapel addition was dedicated in 2009 as The Chapel of the Sacred Heart of Jesus to honor and glorify God and all He does here.

We offer a variety of retreat programs including: guided group retreats, guided days of prayer/reflection, directed retreats according to the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, preached or conference-type retreats, private retreats, and individual guided/directed retreats.  We can also tailor a retreat to the specific needs of an individual or group. Servant Song also makes its facility available to groups that choose to provide their own director or leader.  Retreats can be as short as 6-8 hours, 24 hours, a weekend, or longer and can be scheduled throughout the year.  A trained/certified spiritual director also offers private spiritual direction by appointment, even during private retreats.

First Song of the Servant - Isaiah 42:6- 8

"I, the Lord have called you for the victory of justice. I have grasped you by the hand; I formed you, and set you as a covenant of the people, a light for the nations, to open the eyes of the blind, to bring out prisoners from confinement, and from the dungeon, those who live in darkness. I am the Lord, this is my name; my glory I give to no others, nor my praise to idols."

Servant Song is a collaborative ministry of like-minded individuals who seek to further the message and mission of Jesus Christ for the betterment of humankind and the world through the dynamics of silence, prayer, retreats, education, and spiritual direction in the Christian tradition.

To every visitor, we extend the gift of hospitality as described in the words of the  late Henri Nouwen. . .
"Hospitality means primarily the creation of a free space where the stranger can enter and become a  friend instead of an enemy.

Hospitality is not to change people, but to offer them a space where change can take place.

It is not to bring men and women over to our side, but to offer freedom not disturbed by dividing lines.

Hospitality is not a subtle invitation to adopt the lifestyle of the host, but the gift of a chance for the guest to find his or her own."

At the annual board meeting in July 2014, our board of directors made the decision to increase our board size and two new members were elected. We welcome Dr. Keith L. Rieder and Pastor Cynthia Deter and are excited about the new gifts they bring with their presence.  We thank God for this group who gives so selflessly of their time and energy to serve in whatever way is needed.  GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Ministry services are provided by the staff spiritual/retreat director and an independent ecumenical ministry team comprised of religious, ministers, priests, and qualified/certified lay persons. It is the heartfelt desire of our servants to companion others, even if only briefly, on their spiritual sojourn toward wholeness, healing, and transformation in Christ.
Marie Frye, who has been a long-time intercessor for Servant Song, joined us as support staff in June 2016. She makes the houses "sparkle and shine." We are delighted to have her!
Our volunteers are a true gift--a real treasure.  We are deeply grateful for each person's gracious sharing of gifts, time, and energy in so many ways.  This work would not be possible without them and the contributions they have made.  Coming soon to the site . . . a page to honor our volunteers as well as a listing of volunteer opportunities.
